The Wildcats Post is new to the ballgame of online publications, and so is the Student Media Club President, Aubrey Hopkins. Though she isn’t letting that get in her way, even if she is new to the journalism scene.
As the club president, Aubrey Hopkins is a proud leader. She is in the class of 2026, enjoys being in the spirit club, HOSA, and gardening within her free time.
Her new passion for journalism has truly sparked within this club. Hopkins has stepped up as president, knowing how difficult it is to start a club like this, but that did not stop her stride into this position.
Hopkins’ working hard to help build a strong foundation and team so in the future, when she does graduate out of being president she knows she can leave behind committed, trusting students to continue the legacy.
“I haven’t always been into journalism, I sorta fell into the club.” Aubrey shared about her interest in journalism, so even if someone is more of a reader, they can still come out of their comfort zone and become a writer. “I’ve always been more of a reader than a writer, but I welcome the change.“
Hopkins is resolute, and always up to respond to any questions that people may have about joining.
The Student Media President had warm words for those interested in the club, “We appreciate all the help we can get with the club and that everyone is welcome!“
Hopkins gave this as her best advice for Student Media newcomers and those thinking about joining, “Being nervous and not always jumping into things immediately can be a good thing, but you shouldn’t let it hold you back from doing what you want in life.“
